Having trouble with your compatible ink cartridge ?
- Here are a few simple tips to get you started quickly.
Compatible ink cartridges not recognised.
Our premium compatible ink cartridges can print as good as originals. Most compatibles are made for Epson, Brother and Canon cartridges.
If you are having problems with the quality of print with your compatible inks, one tip that we have found is to fit a full set of compatible cartridges to your printer (BCMY) rather than have a odd original cartridge in the set, as the mix of ink types do not seem to mix well.
When fitting compatible inks for the first time
- Remove all the cartridges from the printer and turn the printer off.
- Then turn it back on and fit a full set of compatible inks.
- Run a cartridge cleaning programme.
Now you should be ready to go with great quality printing without the expensive price tag!
Please note : There is a small chance that compatible cartridges will register as "Empty" when installed. It is not empty and is simply miss-registering. Click "Okay" when prompted by this error and you will be able to print as normal.
Having trouble with your re-manufactured ink cartridge ?
'Low or no ink', 'Not compatible' message showing at the printer
- All of our cartridges are fully filled with ink. However, sometimes remanufactured cartridges printers display low ink or empty messages. This is quite common but will not affect the ability to print until empty.
- Here are some easy tips to help you get back to printing:
- Wipe the copper contact plate on the cartridge with a slightly damp piece of kitchen paper. Then dry them and place them in the printer.
When installed, run the cleaning programme (3 - 4 times for best results) as this will clean the heads and push the ink through.
- If the cartridge is still not working:
Turn your printer off, wait for about 2 - 3 minutes and turn it back on again. Remove the cartridges and re-install them, pushing down firmly on the cartridge to make sure it is properly seated in the correct position.
- Try several cartridge alignments (usually under Tool in your printer menu) to kick start the cartridges into picking up the ink.
- Although your printer will not track ink, our cartridges will print fine from start to finish.
The printout contains no ink
- Ensure that the tape covering the printhead is removed.
- Wrap the cartridge in a kitchen paper and shake gently up and down (not side-way) 5 - 6 times.
- Stand the cartridge upright for a few minutes before using. Then get a damp paper towel, fold it into quarters and sit the cartridge print head down onto it. Hold the cartridge down to the damp paper towel for three minutes. This will help pull the ink out of the print heads, priming them and getting them ready to print. Finally, install the cartridge into your printer and print a few test pages.
- Please make sure that the printer is set online (at the computer), and increase the darkness setting at the printer.
